Agrifood Next, the event organized by the PRIMA Italian Secretariat, Qualivita Foundation, University of Siena and Municipality of Siena in which entrepreneurs, innovators, experts, students, researchers and representatives of national and international institutions will be the real protagonists of the debate, will take place in Siena at the Santa Maria della Scala on 15 and 16 November, 2019.
The aim of Agrifood Next is to enhance the cases of technological and organizational innovation by small and medium enterprises in the agrifood sector and to promote the professionals of tomorrow. Young farmers, entrepreneurs, managers and sharecroppers will, thus, tell their stories, share best solutions and experiences of sustainable innovation, create networks, meet experts and policy makers.
Central themes addressed during the event will be:
- presentation of innovation cases and dissemination of successfull concrete solutions able to combine the principle of sustainability with the territorial dimension;
- networking activities among operators, innovators, financiers, and institutions in order to foster cooperation of different professional profiles equally committed to agricultural issues;
- interactive research and innovation workshops and spaces where promoting technological and organizational solutions useful for supporting companies in the agrifood sector.
Agrifood Next will also include job and training opportunities thanks to the Career Day and the Salone dell’Orientamento, in which students, recent graduates, universities and the business world will meet and talk about the new professional figures, skills and competences required for the development of the agrifood sector. Universities, Masters, Schools, Companies, Organizations will thus have their own space to promote the professionals of tomorrow.
The event is an example of digital innovation: an Open Badge will be issued to all participants who request it. This is a new methodology for certifying competences that students, citizens and entrepreneurs can include in their curricula in order to that enhance transversal skills and the knowledge acquired during the two days.
